Bilingual Films Made By Local Young People

In 2016, Languages Sheffield ran a project funded by a National Lottery Awards for All grant to organise a series of creative workshops with different groups of bilingual young people.

 

10 half day music, poetry and film workshops were held, in partnership with the following groups and organisations:
Eritrean Children’s School
Fir Vale Secondary School
‘Nergiz’ (Kurdish) School
Oromo Children’s School
Sheffield Refugee Council
As part of the project, Raj Madaan from Madaan Media worked with young people from the Congo, Eritrea and Kurdistan to produce the following 3 films in Swahili, Tigrinya and Kurdish Sorani.
